Sofia meets French Tour Operators from Nice, Cannes and Monaco

On November 15, 2017 in the city of Nice, France and in cooperation with Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport, Sofia Tourism Administration organized an event where it promoted Sofia as a tourist destination and dubbed the capital “Sofia – Your New Destination”. The event was organized because Wizz Air launched new direct flights from Nice to Sofia. The first flight will be on March 26, 2018 and the subsequent flights will take place every Friday and Monday.

The event took place in La Salle Blanche - a conference hall of JOYA Lifestore, and was attended by representatives of Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport, tour operators from Nice, Cannes and Monaco, journalists and bloggers.

Ivo Marinov – Director of Sofia Tourism Administration, presented the history of the Bulgarian capital, its main landmarks and newest attractions as well as the achievements of the city in the fields of cinema and sports as in 2018 Sofia will be European capital of sport. He referred to Sofia as a year-round tourist destination that offers all types of tourism.

The attendees took part in a raffle with prizes provided by Sofia hoteliers and tour operators. The three winners will have the opportunity to come to Sofia for three days and visit some of the most interesting attractions in the city and its surroundings.

This event provoked interest and drew the attention of the French tour operators to Sofia.
